Privacy Policy

LensLink is made by Toni Marence. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.

Summary

LensLink does not collect any personal data. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it sends nothing to the developer or to third parties.

What the app accesses and why

PermissionWhy
CameraTo take photos and record videos when the device is used as a camera, and to send a live preview to your remote devices
MicrophoneTo record sound with videos
Photo library (add only)To save the photos and videos you take. LensLink cannot read your existing photos.
Local networkTo find and connect to your other nearby devices running LensLink
BluetoothTo connect to a compatible Sony camera, if you set one up

Data shared between your devices

Photos, live previews and capture commands go directly between nearby devices running LensLink, over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection (Apple MultipeerConnectivity). They never pass through a server. The device name you choose is shown to other nearby LensLink devices.

Data stored on your device

LensLink stores a few settings on your device, such as your device name, preview preferences and the paired Sony camera. They are deleted when you delete the app.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or external services. The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security, and deletes them automatically through regular log rotation.

Contact form and e-mail

When you use the contact form or write an e-mail, I receive your e-mail address, the name you enter (optional) and your message. I use them only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them when they're no longer needed, at the latest after 12 months. Messages from the form are stored on my server in the EU and forwarded to my mailbox. To block spam, your IP address is kept in memory for up to one hour and never stored.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at). Since LensLink stores no personal data on any server, there is usually nothing to access or delete.
