Common questions

How do I pair a new device?

Open LensLink on both devices. Under Nearby devices, tap the new device ("Not paired · tap to pair"). A 4-digit code appears; enter it on the other device, or tap Scan QR Code there. Choose how long to trust it: 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours or always. A new device only has to be paired with one of your devices; your other paired devices then trust it too.

How do I remove a paired device?

Tap Paired Devices on the home screen and choose Forget, or Forget All Paired Devices to start over. A forgotten device has to be paired again before it can connect.

My devices don't find each other

Keep LensLink open on all devices, with Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth turned on (they don't need to be on the same network). Check that LensLink is allowed to use the local network: Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → LensLink.

A camera shows "Reconnecting…"

The connection dropped, for example because the device was locked or went out of range. LensLink reconnects by itself as soon as the device is back. If you turned the device off on purpose, tap Remove from view.

Do I need to buy LensLink on every device?

No. One purchase covers all devices signed in with the same Apple ID, and Family Sharing extends it to your family. Friends with their own Apple ID need their own copy.

Where are my photos and videos?

Each camera saves its own photos and videos to its Photos library. Photos are also sent to the remote, where you can save or share them.

How do I connect a Sony camera?

Your camera needs Bluetooth remote control (for example the ZV‑E10). On the camera, turn on Bluetooth Rmt Ctrl and open Bluetooth → Pairing. Then tap Set Up on the Sony card in LensLink and follow the steps. You only pair once.

The Sony camera is connected but doesn't take photos

Forget the camera in LensLink (and in iOS Settings → Bluetooth), then pair again while the camera's Pairing screen is open. The camera only accepts a remote that was paired from that screen.
